Minkoff Buildings
This project involved the renovation of former industrial buildings into office space. Located opposite each other in a transitional part of the city, the buildings were designed to attract Class A tenants. So successful was the renovation that the initial tenants included offices for the DC Superior Court and the main headquarters for the National Gay and Lesbian Alliance, in addition to the owner and his architect. The interiors are of a contemporary nature targeting the design professionals the client initially sought as tenants. Both buildings feature a tautly detailed staircase and skylight wells that, taking advantage of the two-story height, bring daylight into the center of the ground floor.
Ian Birchall provided entitlement, architectural, and interior design services while at The Birchall Design Group.
