Greek Orthodox Cathedral

This project involved developing a concept design for a new cathedral to be sited on diocese property adjacent to the Valencia Street campus. This unabashedly contemporary proposal places the campanile as an icon on the street, set off by an outdoor service area with a glass and stone backdrop, which also serves to conceal the neighboring billboard. The main body of the cathedral is contained in a translucent box capped with a stone crown.
