Mint Lofts - Private Residence 3

The Mint Lofts project constitutes a renovation and adaptive re-use of an existing historic 10-story warehouse in downtown San Francisco. The scope included renovation of 52 live-work units into luxury condominiums, common space improvements and private roof decks for penthouse units. ib+as design philosophy for this project was to warm up the cold industrial interiors of the warehouse with large expanses of wood paneled walls and glass partitions thus creating a scale of interior design consistent with the existing tall ceilings and industrial windows. Steamed European beech, granite, stainless steel and clear glass were chosen to bridge the gap between the industrial found object and the residential use.
